mardi gras 2012 - part 1

my favorite parade the krewe of muses, a crawfish boil for my 25th birthday, hanging out in the french quarter with my family on lundi gras ... it was a wonderful trip home. 

blueberry pancakes

one of my favorite places in new orleans, gott gourmet makes these delicious blueberry pancakes topped with candied pecans (recipe here) and strawberries. since i can't go to gott gourmet, i recreated the dish myself ... they were delicious!

breakfast burrito

made some yummy breakfast burritos over the weekend. very simple to make too. scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese and some smothered potatoes inside a flour tortilla. peel and slice the potatoes, chop some green onions, then layer the potatoes, green onions and seasoning in a pan with about a tablespoon of olive oil. cook until potatoes are tender and golden brown. yum.
